Effect of culture passages on biofilm formation. Biofilm produced in glass tubes by strains UK1–20 and VL6–6 after 27 culture passages in the laboratory (UK1–20p27 and VL6–6p27). The original strains are included in the pictures for comparison. Cultures were incubated for different times (indicated in the figure) and pictures were taken after elimination of the bacterial culture and staining with crystal violet.
