Micrometastasis is detected using canine specific primers to quanitify the amount of canine DNA in the lungs of each mouse. Four of the 6 mice in each group were used to calculate the means. The minimum detection level of the assay is 0.02% as demonstrated by the red line. Right- Number of mice in each group with detectable metastases. Three of the 5 cell lines had mice with detectable levels of foreign canine DNA present in murine lung samples
