Calves were injected i.v. once with saline (5 ml) or saline containing choline chloride (1 mg/kg). Five minutes after the first i.v. treatment, calves received endotoxin (LPS, 2 μg/kg) in 5 ml normal saline. Measurements were performed immediately before first i.v. treatment (0 h) and 1 – 48 h after saline, choline, LPS or LPS + choline treatments. Each point represents to Mean ± SEM of six determinations. * p < 0.05, **p < 0.001, ***p < 0.001 as compared to baseline + p < 0.05, ++p < 0.01 as compared to saline group
