Antigen presenting cells (APC) per adipocyte in equine adipose tissue. Major Histocompatibility Complex II (MHC II) stain was performed to enable the identification of antigen presenting cells/HPF (APC/HPF) in the different AT depots. Data are reported as means ± SD. A lower amount of APC/adipocyte was found in the N ½ AT compared to the loin AT (0.024). Superscripts (ab) indicate differences between adipose tissue location (P < 0.05). Missing values and outliers were excluded from this analysis (N3/4 8; N1/4 4; TH 3; M 3,4,7,8; RK 2,7,9; L 11, RP 3).
