Clinical parameters evaluated in vivo in unchallenged and challenged healthy and recurrent airway obstruction-affected horses. Clinical score, percentage of cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, arterial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) and lung function (X5HZ) were compared between the groups. This experiment is representative of one protocol performed with five heaves-affected horses and four healthy horses (*P < 0.05; RAO: recurrent airway obstruction).
