  1. The modified Triadan numbering system consists of 3 numbers. The first number relates to the quadrant of the mouth in which the tooth lies; Upper Right: 1; Upper Left: 2; Lower Left: 3; Lower Right: 4.
  2. If a deciduous tooth is referred to, then a different number is used: Upper Right: 5; Upper Left: 6; Lower Left: 7; Lower Right: 8. The second and third numbers refer to the location in rostrocaudal orientation.
