Plasma MDA level pre-and post-treatment in the control (A) and the treatment group (B) and the mean percentage (%) change of plasma MDA level in the control and treatment group (C). The plasma MDA level was not different between pre-and post-treatment in the control group (A). However, melatonin supplementation in the treatment group exerted a beneficial effect on MDA level, increasing attenuation of plasma MDA post-treatment compared to pre-treatment (B). Melatonin also increased the mean % change of plasma MDA level in the experimental group compared to the control group (C).
