The representative western blots show 27 kDa CD9 protein in 1 day (1 D) (N = 6) and 30 days (30 D) (N = 5) old foal lung tissues (A). The blot quantification (B) from duplicates showed a significant increase in the amount of CD9 in lungs, as determined by normalized density (a.u.) of the CD-9 protein blot, of 30 day old foals (772,861 ± 264,872 a.u.) compared to the one day foals (190,430 ± 35,927 a.u.); * p = 0.0397.
