The radius was used as the point of reference in the control specimens (a), and the plate in the plated specimens (b). This allowed for relative movement of the ulna to be measured between the neutral, supinated and pronated positions. In the images, the yellow ulna is in the neutral position; the green ulna in the pronated position and the red ulna in the supinated position
