RT-PCR results of samples. a confirmed that betaine(2 mmol/L, treated for 4 h)can recover the down-regulation of Occludin induced by LPS(1 μg/mL), and enhanced the mRNA expression of Occludin. b proved that LPS induced inflammation while co-treatment of betaine and LPS make the IL-6expression drop to normal levels. Besides, betaine alone will lower the IL-6 expression. All the results were repeated three times (n = 3, *P < 0.05, ** P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 compared with control)
