The hormone concentrations were measured in16 ponies previously determined to be either severely insulin-dysregulated (SD) or not severely insulin-dysregulated (NSD). Measurements were taken after grazing either unfertilised (●), or fertilised (○), pasture for 4 h/day for 5 days (with an evening meal of hay). The insulin responses to each test (a) were lower, but more variable, in NSD ponies. While the SD group were consistently insulin-dysregulated across both tests, the NSD responses were more variable, and were sometimes above the OGT test cut-off (⃞) and sometimes below it.
