Daily changes in the 24-h mean time that ruminal and reticular pH < 5.6. Ruminal and reticular pH were measured simultaneously during the experimental period. Cattle were fed a high-forage diet for 7 days (HAY period) and then a high-grain diet for 7 days (CON period). A SARA challenge was performed as a high-forage period followed by a high-grain period.
