The role of MAPKs and NF-κB in S.c-induced SBD-1 mRNA expression. a Effect of different signalling pathway inhibitors on SBD-1 mRNA expression induced by S.c. Ruminal epithelial cells were cultured with S.c (5.2 × 107 CFU∙mL− 1), with or without NF-κB inhibitor (PDTC), ERK 1/2 inhibitor (PD98059), p38 inhibitor (SB203580) or JNK inhibitor (SP600125) for 12 h. Total RNA was isolated, reverse-transcribed to cDNA, and the expression of SBD-1 mRNA was quantified with qPCR using specific primers for SBD-1 and β-Actin. b Effect of a combination of different inhibitors on S.c-induced SBD-1 mRNA expression. Ruminal epithelial cells were cultured with S.c (5.2 × 107 CFU∙mL− 1), with or without NF-κB inhibitor (PDTC), ERK 1/2 inhibitor (PD98059), p38 inhibitor (SB203580), and JNK inhibitor (SP600125) for 12 h.
