Cytokine secretion by cattle MoDCs differentiated in the presence or absence of 1,25(OH)2D3. MoDCs differentiated from cattle CD14 + ve monocytes in the presence or absence of 1,25(OH)2D3 for 10 days. After harvesting, cells incubated with (white bars) or without LPS (black bars) for 24 h. Following stimulation, secretion of IL-1β (a), IL-12 (b) and IL-10 (c) into culture supernatants were measured by ELISA. Data are expressed as the concentration of cytokine in picograms (pg) or biological units (BU) per ml of supernatant. (d) Fold increase of cytokine secretion. (e) Ratio of IL10/IL12 secretion.
