  1. aCD5+/-IgM+ cells were sorted using a flow cytometer and the MACS System was used to sort CD4+ and CD8+ cells.
  2. bThe purity of the CD5+/-IgM + cells was calculated using a flow cytometer based at the Brain Sciences Institute. The purity of the CD4+ and CD8+ cells obtained using the MACS Separation System was assessed by immunofluorescence analysis.
  3. cThe proviral load (expressed as the copy number per 105 cells) was estimated using BLV-CoCoMo-qPCR [19].
