  1. 1The isolates from clinical or subclinical mastitis, except for two S. aureus isolates from subclinical mastitis, originate from the data of [16]. Two S. aureus isolates from subclinical mastitis originate from the data of Taponen et al. [17]. The isolates from persistent or transient bovine mastitis originate from the study of Taponen et al. [9] and the isolates from extramammary sites (skin of the udder, teats, perineum, and the milker’s hand) originate from the study of Taponen et al. [18].
