Immunoblotting analysis of sera from selected animals of Panel 2 (Short-term Afadé trial). Nitrocellulose strips carrying SDS-PAGE separated whole-cell antigen of MmmSC strain Afadé were incubated with a 1:100 dilution of the serum, and reactive bands were visualised using AP-conjugated anti-bovine IgG and BCIP/NTB. A: animal BD093, B: animal BD099, C: animal BD101, D: animal BD097. Black arrows indicate additional bands close to MmmSC-specific bands that are not observed with all sera (B, C, and D) and a prominent additional band, which occurred only on positive strips of animal BD093 (A). Molecular weights (in kDa) of specific bands that have been recommended for identification of the infection are indicated. NC = negative control serum, PC = positive control serum.
