  1. Cell density measurement (mean ± SD) in outer nuclear layer (ONL) and inner nuclear layer (INL) of retinas from unaffected control and naturally scrapie-affected sheep. In each of the three areas examined from each retina, the cell count was obtained by averaging the measurements made within three fields of 250 μm wide and at x400 magnification.
